Chris Merther joined the Industrial Truck Association in 1997 as Manager of Technical Programs working closely with industrial truck manufacturers to develop industry recommended practices, US national standards, and international standards. In 2004, he helped create the Industrial Truck Standards Development Foundation, which was formed to administer the B56 standards for industrial trucks, serving as one of the founding members of the Board of Trustees. Chris continues to serve as a Trustee and is responsible for the daily operation of ITSDF and is the B56 Committee Manager. He serves on a number of other US and international committees related to industrial trucks. After earning a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University, he worked in naval ship design, hydraulic rescue tool design and manufacturing, and with other associations before coming to the industrial truck industry.
